What is “Overdrive” about?
"Overdrive" is a high-speed night drive in song form, with no brakes, burning rubber and a neon boulevard that stretches until morning light. The car doubles as a metaphor for the group's momentum, summed up in the bridge line "heart's a motor, blood is fuel." Adrenaline, not destination, is the point. As the seventh track on GLITCH, it is one of the album's most kinetic moments before the record spins off into the romantic vertigo of "Dizzy."
