What is “Cherry Bomb” about?
"Cherry Bomb" plays on the gap between sweet and dangerous. The narrators present themselves as candy-red and harmless at first glance, red lips and all, then warn that one bite sets off the explosion, painting the town with pink clouds and red rain over a ticking countdown. The bridge sums the whole idea up as "sweet and scary." At track four on GLITCH, it keeps the bravado of the openers but dresses it in sugar, leading straight into the candy imagery of "Sugar Rush."
