What is “Afterlight” about?

"Afterlight" reduces its lyric to a single fractured word, the title broken apart as "after... after... light." The effect is of a phrase half-remembered, which suits a song named for the glow that lingers once the light itself is gone, and fits deep house's general use of the voice as texture rather than narrative. It sits at track fourteen on Tide Clock, after "Low Orbit," with only "Undertow" and the title track still to come.
