What is “Midnight Algorithm” about?
"Midnight Algorithm" asks what remains of a person once a life is reduced to loops and functions, opening on code that was once a field of rain. The narrator calls herself the prayer inside the machine and keeps circling one unresolved question: was this body designed for her, or by her? Sitting eighth on Solstice Light, it begins the album's second half on its most questioning lyric, and ends by recognizing that both sides are "the same thing, looking back."
