What is “Orbit” about?
"Orbit" is a self-love song about giving up the habit of circling someone else and learning that gravity begins with yourself. The narrator writes love letters to the woman in the mirror, reads her scars as constellations and discovers she is the sun she spent her life looking for. Eighth on Velvet, at the midpoint of the sixteen-track album, it arrives at a quiet conclusion in its bridge: "I was always enough."
